Coffee with Jess: A Typical Morning vlog style

Dude, what is up with the I'm-on-crack or really-need-to-sneeze face? Whatever, here it is! I forgot to tell everyone, the reason I'm on my bed is because my morning starts with getting out of it!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

  1. You crack me up! 12 hours...sweet. Last night my youngest came sprinting in my room and tackled me. She had a nightmare. We played musical beds. Mornings are all about survival around here. I'm a tea drinker (four cups, five scoops of sugar each...yeah, I wrote that right). :D

Thanks for the shout out! Maybe I'll surprise you with a vlog someday.

    1. I was afraid I'd be playing musical beds last night too. My son finally slept in his bed last night, after months of sleeping in daughter's trundle. But he made it!

You should vlog! Do it! :)

  2. Interruptions...I am so with you! And especially when I'm trying to have my "quiet time"--do they NOT see I'm tying to love Jesus? :)

I get up around 6 then get the kids up around 7:30 to try and start school by 8:30...depends on the drama around here b/c our mornings are full of it!

    1. Thanks! I didn't do it. A graphic designer at my church did. He does great work!

  4. Jess - I love love LOVE this! You crack me up immensely.

I usually get up around 6, take a shower, have my Jesus time, then get the kids and hubby up at 7 (if they're not awake already). Kids are getting better about getting ready, but sometimes we have to "encourage" a bit. We leave about 7:40 (or start leaving - you know how THAT is) - I drop the kids off at school, and then head home for breakfast. Most mornings, anyway.

    1. My DH gets up and goes straight to the shower (unless he's at the gym) but I got to wake up to sit down! LOL

  5. Oh, you are so hilarious. This is the blog that has most often succeeded in making me spit out my coffee. :)

My morning routine - up at 5 a.m., stumble to the kitchen for a cup of coffee (I program my coffeemaker the night before - possibly the best technology ever), stumble to the couch or back to my bed or if I'm really having issues keeping my eyes open, my desk (less chance I'll zonk out there) to have my quiet time with God. Then, on my good days, I write from around 5:30 to 7ish ...then I find some breakfast...then get ready for work...and I generally make it to the office around 8:03. I'm such a routine girl. :)

  8. I love the new look! And it's good to know what my mornings will be like when I move in with your family. I'll do my best not to interrupt you. :)

I either drag my butt out of bed at 5:30 and write, or I wake up when my three-year-old opens our bedroom door and starts demanding, "I need milk and cereal!" He's a bossy little guy!

  9. Yaya, you made my morning!! THIS was what I needed to watch first thing at work this morning. Thanks for listening to all my tweets, texts, etc...it wasn't just me bugging you, was it? ;)

And yes! Love the new header. So, so awesome!

My morning? MWF I get up early to comment on blogs. Early should be 4:30. Early ends up being 5:30 or 5:45. *cringe* Working on that. TTH I'm trying to get me and my husband up to work out. Then take a shower, pack breakfast and lunch, feed the dog, drive to work. Force myself to work. Then on my lunch break do my devos/prayer and writing.

And no coffee. Blah! I hate it. Even the drinks where people CLAIM you can "barely taste it." I always can. I always can.

    1. Okay. Until now, we've discovered similarity after similarity, Linz. But your distaste for coffee? Ummm...I have no words.

Hehe, just kidding. I think we can still be friends. :)

  10. My kids usually wake me up with some type of bickering around 5:30 or 6:00. They're all early risers. Okay, with me since I never have to set an alarm. Not so good, cause if I ever want to have quiet time before anyone wakes up, I might as well just do it before I go to bed the night before. :) Then it's scramble, scramble, scramble to get everyone ready, fed, combed, homework in backpack, snack packed, buckled in car seats and out the door by 7:55. Makes me tired just thinking about it. :)

Good vlog lady! Keep em coming'

  11. Not a lot of drama...

Were you prone to half-truths when you were a child?

    hehe!

You are a lot better about getting up than I am! I HATE getting up early. Give me a late morning any day of the week. ;)

    1. You call it half-truths, I call it preparing myself for writing fiction and entertaining audiences! hee hee!

I used to hate getting up early too. It's an acquired taste. ;) lol

  16. Aaahhh!!! Gorgeous new website look!!! Love it!!

Okay, I do fill up the water and throw out the stupid coffee filter in the morning. Why do I do that? We have a timer, hello? :)

    Have a great weekend, Jessica!

    1. Thanks, Jill! You have a timer and you don't use it???? What?! That is messed up! Maybe your next vlog should be setting the timer before bed! LOL

  17. Jess, thought I'd sprinkle a little fairy dust here and see if I could comment (yet) still trying to use my old WP addy, as my website URL will no longer work. :(

Your website header is lovely--because your pretty smile complements it, of course!

    You're a hoot!

  18. What in the world?? How do you post a 6 minute vlog about your morning routine, yet hold me captive the entire time?? I laughed and nodded in agreement and couldn't stop watching. Teach me please.

You rock my world, Jessica R Patch.

Random Q - I didn't realize you worked outside of the home. What do you do?

    1. The secret to looking so cute on a vlog in the morning is filming it the night before when you've had plenty of time to primp! LOL

Thank you for the sweet compliments! So when are YOU going to give us a vlog?! Are you coming to ACFW? I'd love to meet you!

  20. I'm glad my internets finally decided to work so I could watch this, even if I am three days late! Your kids are going to have great careers as writers, or comedians, or maybe therapists, because you are giving them plenty of material! :)

My alarm goes off around 5:15. I have my Jesus time and wake Anna Marie up around 6 - with breakfast in bed. I know. I should make her get up and to the table, but frankly neither of us is a morning person and it's just EASIER. Somehow we make it out the door around 7, and it's off to school and work. Not nearly as entertaining as your morning, but it gets the job done!
