I Can't Get Enough Big Daddy!

Big Daddy Weave is one of my favorite bands. Besides the fact his voice is beautiful, their message through song is powerful and moving. I love feel good tunes for sure and some ballads move me. But Big Daddy always raises chill bumps on my skin. I feel their faith through the music and the lyrics.

Seems I always find one or two songs in every manuscript I write that Big Daddy helps me bring to life. One day, I shall put them in the acknowledgment section of a novel, or all. ha!

I shared their song Redeemed on July 4th but I've been listening to this song on repeat for a while. I love the message even if it's one of their older songs. Their new album is amazing! Check it out on Spotify and iTunes!

What have you been listening to?

  1. Hehe, I just answered a similar question on Jill's blog! And there I confessed to loving Coldplay so much that sometimes it's ALL I listen to. Well, them and Needtobreathe which is my other musical love. :) But I do love listening to worship music...Matt Redman, Hillsong United. Actualy, when I'm at work and now and then struggling with my attitude towards my day job (hehehe), one of the best things I've found to do is stick in my ear buds and turn on the worship music...focus on praising God rather than punching my computer. Hehehe...

    1. Oh I love Need to Breathe! I've seen them twice in concert. Once with Train another favorite band of mine!

Your "hee hees" are making me smile this morning!

    2. I'm so jealous of you seeing Needtobreathe in concert. Ahhh...breaking a commandment...trying to stop...but I NEED to see them. :)

  2. I love Big Daddy Weave. I've been listening to an acoustic station on Pandora. I've figured out I can concentrate better on my writing if there aren't lyrics.

    1. I need your acoustic station! I have a nature one so when it's storming in my ms, I have the actual sound going in my room. :)

  3. I've actually been listening to some soothing piano lately. I know... it doesn't fit my personality in the least, but words in my ears have distracted me from the ones in my head lately. Okay, now I sound crazy. I'll stop now.

  4. Redeemed is one of my favorite songs right now too - that struck a chord. And I'm huge on praise & worship and old hymns. But I gotta say, I love Maroon 5 and Christina Perri, This Band Perry, Lady Antebellum...

    1. Oh I love Maroon 5. I saw them in concert too. It was awesome. Minus the drunk couple two rows down. Let's just say everyone was having a hard time focusing on Adam Levine. And to have a hard time doing that meant something ridiculous was going down. Yah know what I'm sayin? lol

  5. I posted the five songs that have been jamming my head this week, but when it comes to a band I love...Third Day and the Eli Young Band...I can always listen to them! :)

  6. They are awesome! I saw Big Daddy Weave in concert once. I listen to the Christian radio in the car, but here at work, I've been listening to the showtunes station. Peps me up when I really don't want to be here!

And you know me...music is like water to me. I couldn't live without it!!

My fave go-to song is Mercy Me's "I Can Only Imagine." I like Big Daddy Weave, too. :)

  8. Big Daddy Weave is da bomb!! Yesterday, I downloaded a new album from iTunes called "No One Higher" from the worship band at Northpoint Community Church (Andy Stanley's church). It's AWESOME! http://tinyurl.com/9dq5ub7

  9. Love this, Jessica! You will have to create a dedicated fan page now. :) Ha!

I'm sure I've heard Big Daddy Weave, but their name and their songs are clicking together for me. I'll have to check them out!

  11. Happy Friday, Jessica!

I had a fellow scribe ask me about a specific Evanescence song... and now I've been listening to Amy Lee all week off and on, old and new stuff. Great to work out to... if I worked out. I tend to sit out and rock out and space out and wish I could go out, but work out? That one is like way, way, way down at the bottom of the list this week. Sigh.

Love NeedtoBreathe. Keli - we're big Celtic Thunder fans. And Celtic Women fans. I also love Nora Jones, Diana Krall, and Sarah Maclachlan to write to. They just stir my angsty, romantic soul.

Plum. Oh my. She's awesome, too. AND she's a believer!

    Blessings,
    Becky

  12. I will say I like Owl City, no matter how nerdy that might sound...and I like some of BarlowGirl. Lately, I've been running the Brandon Heath song "Your Love" over and over on my ipod.
