Unstoppable Love

“So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose? If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us? And who would dare tangle with God by messing with one of God’s chosen? Who would dare even to point a finger? The One who died for us—who was raised to life for us!—is in the presence of God at this very moment sticking up for us. Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ’s love for us? There is no way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture: They kill us in cold blood because they hate you. We’re sitting ducks; they pick us off one by one. None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us. I’m absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.” Romans 8:31-39 MSG

  2. It's the truth that keeps me going through increasingly difficult days. When the pain is so bad that I want to bang my head against a wall and just STOP, I know that God does love me, does care, and still has a job for me to do.

    And that how I deal with my life now is part of the job, whether it's supposed to be an inspiration to others, or simply character growth for me.

  3. LOVE that truth. Love it...and what I'll do differently? Well, that line that says if God didn't hesitate to put everything on the line for us, is there anything he wouldn't do for us...I want to embrace that today. I've been struggling lately to "rise to the occasion"...been overwhelmed and have been letting it get me down. But dude...there is NOTHING God ever asks me to do without him. He's in every packed minute of every packed day. So what I want to do differently today is make a conscious effort to recognize that presence...and embrace it.

    1. I'm going to embrace that too, Tagg. I think my prayers will even be different knowing there's nothing he won't do for us, so I can come boldly and ask things I might have been too timid to ask before. Even though, I know we should never be timid...stilll...:)
