Meet Jessica: Wife, Mom, Writer & Speaker

This is a Snuggie! Keeps me warm while I write!
Jessica the Writer:

"Commit your works to the Lord and He will
establish your thoughts.”
Proverbs 16:3

I’ve loved tapping on a keyboard since the Tomy’s © Tutor Typer came out when I was two. Say that five times as fast as you can.

I’ve been telling stories since I could speak.

I’m still at it today, writing contemporary romances and romantic suspense novels about flawed but redeemable characters while bringing them through trials and triumphs. Because my greatest romance is with my Savior, Jesus Christ, all my stories are threaded with hope and His love for us.

My agent, Rachel Kent of Books & Such Literary Agency. My debut novel releases in early 2016 with Harlequin Love Inspired Suspense.

  • Favorite time of day to write: Mid-morning when the house is quiet
  • Favorite snack to munch on while brainstorming plots: Cheez-Its and Chocolate Chips
  • Favorite drink to have near: Coffee…pots and pots of coffee and Diet A&W root beer

 Jessica the Speaker:

“My mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD,
And all flesh shall bless His holy name Forever and ever.”
Psalm 145:21

I love sharing with women the hope of Jesus Christ. Carrying the Word of God to a group of women isn’t something I take lightly. It’s a great responsibility and an honor and privilege. If you would like to discuss setting up a speaking engagement for your women’s event, retreat, banquet, or monthly meeting, please send me an email through the CONNECT page.

My son pretending to be me!

Wife & Mom:

“Her children rise up and call her blessed;  Her husband also, and he praises her…” Proverbs 31:28

I’ve been married to my sweetheart since 1995 and we still like each other after all these years. We even like the children we’ve produced over time. If it wasn’t for their support and ability to forgive dirty laundry, uncooked meals, and my complete forgetfulness when they have to be somewhere I’d never be able to pursue the dream to write.

My daughter at homecoming!
My husband and I like to have weekly date nights. Mostly just for dinner, but sometimes we’ll catch a movie. That’s one thing that drew us together, our love for cinema. Our family nights consist of pizza, board games, usually Apples to Apples, and playing pranks on each other. There’s never a dull moment and we refuse for a night to go by without some laughs—except for when we’re grounding the kids for not cleaning their rooms. Well…we still laugh, but they don’t.
