Would You Rather? With Katie Ganshert

Hey everyone today we’re playing Would You Rather? with author, Katie Ganshert! Wednesday she’ll be back here with a devotional that ties in with her newest release, Wishing on Willows! And on Friday, the Faith Readers (my book club) will be giving you our group review of the novel. So don’t miss out!

Ready, Katie? Here’s your questions:

Would You Rather spend a day on the
beach or hiking in the woods? Why?
I’d
rather spend a day hiking in the woods. Two reasons. The first, every time I go
to the dermatologist, the doctor makes a point of reminding me how very
fair-skinned I am and prone to skin cancer. The second? Hiking in the woods is
a great idea stimulator and it’s something my husband loves. So we could bond. J
Would You Rather have your first kiss
in a rainstorm or snowstorm? Why?
Rainstorm!
Probably because I’m so tired of the cold weather that the thought of anything
in a snowstorm sounds miserable.
Would You Rather order dinner in or go
out? Why?
That’s
a tough one, because it really depends on my mood. But probably the majority of
the time, it’s go out. No dishes to clean that way and there’s something
intimate about a cozy booth.
Okay everyone, what about you? Pick one or all of these questions and answer them in the comments!

Does a second chance at life and love always involve surrender?

A
three-year old son, a struggling café, and fading memories are all Robin Price
has left of her late husband. As the proud owner of Willow Tree Café in small
town Peaks, Iowa,  she pours her heart into every muffin she bakes and
espresso she pulls, thankful for the sense of purpose and community the work
provides.

So when
developer Ian McKay shows up in Peaks with plans to build condos where her café
and a vital town ministry are located, she isn’t about to let go without a
fight.
As
stubborn as he is handsome, Ian won’t give up easily. His family’s business
depends on his success in Peaks. But as Ian pushes to seal the deal, he wonders
if he has met his match. Robin’s gracious spirit threatens to undo his resolve,
especially when he discovers the beautiful widow harbors a grief that resonates
with his own.
With
polarized opinions forming all over town, business becomes unavoidably personal
and Robin and Ian must decide whether to cling to the familiar or surrender
their plans to the God of Second Chances.

  1. My family's favorite vacation these days is the coast of Oregon, where we get to hike along the rocky and woodsy coast. For me, it's the best of both worlds. I get to see the ocean from high on the cliffs as we hike, but then we get to spend the afternoon reading on the beach wearing jeans and fleece jackets. I only have to wear sunscreen on my face and a baseball cap for further protection. I hear you on the sun damage, Katie!

Congrats on the release of Wishing On Willows, Katie!!!

  2. I ALWAYS prefer the mountains to the beach. I don't love strenuous hiking, but I love walking through the woods and seeing the beauty all around.

Second question depends on where I am in said storm, if I'm on a porch, not getting soaked or struck by lightning, a rainstorm could be fun. A kiss in a light snow is romantic, but DEFINITELY not in a snow STORM. So for that one, I'd need to be inside by a cozy fire.

And I agree with Katie. I love to dine out, and there are certainly more options that way. But sometimes you just want to don your sweats and eat pizza in front of the TV.

  3. Fun! Hands down a hike in the woods over the beach. So many things to explore and discover in the woods!! Thanks for hosting Katie, Jess. And congrats on your release, Katie. Woo Hoo!

  4. I'd rather kiss in a rainstorm than a snowstorm because my body would be so shocked by the cold of a snowstorm that I'd be too focused on that instead of the kiss. 😛

  5. I've kissed hubby in a hot summer afternoon's rainstorm. We were soaked. I would do it again in a blink…very romantic.

  6. Definitely a rainstorm. So romantic!

  7. Wow, Katie-girl, we were the same on all of our answers. 🙂

  8. I like the woods, but down south they're full of ticks…so maybe in the winter woods with snow. Yeah, that sounds about right. AND I'd rather eat in than out…maybe watch an episode of PSYCH together and just chill. Though it's fun to get dressed up for a change and go out to eat. Fun questions/answers today, gals!

  9. Day on the beach. Definitely. Because I'm lazy like that!

(FYI I HIGHLY recommend this book and it's predecessor!)

  10. I'd rather spend a day on the beach. Normally, I'm a hiking type of gal, but it's been so long since I've dipped my toes in the ocean.

  11. I loved Katie's first book and am waiting for this one!

Definitely day on the beach. White, sandy beach with tropical waters. Love. Eating out b/c I hate cooking and dishes, and first kiss in a snowstorm to keep me warm. Awww….I know, so sweet:) lol

  12. Hiking in the woods – definitely! My wife loves hiking.

And first kis…snowstorm. Rain's too pedestrian, but then, I'm from California.

  13. Well, the shore – not necessarily a beach. I like rocks and tide pools more than sand.

Rain. I think it has something to do with Gene Kelly. Or Little Women.

Order in. All the comforts of home and someone else does the cooking.

  14. 1. A day on the beach (I pretty much live in the woods)

    2. Rainstorm. Snowstorms aren't fun at all.

    3. Go out. 🙂 I agree with Katie – no dishes, no clean up. And it's extra special. 🙂
